Ed Hatch has been a full-time artist for 20 years. The majority of his work consists of landscapes with a classic compositional structure. He also likes to paint marine scenes, especially with traditional wooden sailboats.
Ed's work is included in numerous private and corporate collections, including Hampden-Sydney College, Ethyl Corporation, Honeywell, The Homestead and the Black History Museum. He has also painted commission portraits for the past 10 years.
A 1977 graduate of Old Dominion University, Ed spent three years as a commercial artist before pursuing a career as a realist artist. He received a Professional Fellowship through the Virginia Museum of Fine Art in 1980, was nominated for the Governor's Awards in the Arts and received the Virginia Heritage Award presented by Governor Bailes.
Ed lives in Prince George County, Virginia and has his studio located in Burrowsville - in the same building his great-grandparents
