Ed King was born in West Virginia in beautiful Greenbrier County. For nearly three decades, Ed and his wife Karolyn lived in Virginia where they developed a deep love for the mountains and river valleys that surrounded their home. In addition to painting, Ed was founder and president of Air Filter Systems Inc.
Ed worked in watercolor, oil and pastel, and utilized a fresh, individual approach in presentation of his subject matter.
Ed was actively engaged in painting and drawing still life, wildlife and landscapes of subjects and surroundings found in the beautiful Blue Ridge area of Virginia.
Ed exhibited his work in Virginia, West Virginia and Ohio. His paintings are in private and corporate collections throughout the Southeast and are sold through fine galleries.
Ed's training end study strongly influenced him toward a realistic approach to his painting with emphasis on lights and shadows. He strongly believed that drawing is basic and is an essential spring board to painting.
