Nita has been painting for over twenty years. Every year is a new adventure in art. She has studied with well known artists including Sherrie McGraw and David Leffel in Loveland, Colorado and Ken Backhaus, Ralph Oberg, Armand Cabrera, and John Budicin in Fairview, North Carolina. Her first teachers were June and Robert Anderson who opened her eyes to color and light. Since those ten months of instruction with the Andersons, Ms. Honaker knew that this is what she wanted to do with her life. She has won many awards but her greatest reward is when people like her work. She was recently selected for the "Women Artists of West Virginia" permanent exhibit at Charleston University. She gives gratitude to her Creator for any accomplishments she may have.
